This was our first day of the Ship (well, not for Kathleen who was watching the babe) and I think we were all very excited about it. Our shore excursion was actually in Playa Del Carmen in a newly (as in within the last 10 years) discovered limestone cave. They wouldn't let us take pictures in the cave with us, but generously offered to let us buy the pictures they took of us for $25 each, so we don't actually have many pictures from this day.
The fairy ride over to the main land was an adventure in itself! Very rocky, no airflow, and long. The poor Chinese lady and her children next to us got very VERY sea sick. At one point I turned around to see the mom yelling "help help! more bags!" while she was waving her sack full of throw up in air.
The cave was amazing! We all had wet suits, life jackets, head lamps, water shoes, and helmets. You got to explore and swim through the most gorgeous cave I've ever seen. You'll have to take my word for it. At one point it got so skinny and narrow that the water was right under your chin and the roof to the cave right above your head! Afterword they fed us to most amazing authentic Mexican lunch (in my personal opinion, the best meal of the trip).
The fairy ride back was much less adventurous, thankfully.
After dinner we did our usual activity of watching the boat crash into the 10-15 foot swells. We watched some entertainment, ate candy, went to bed.
**warning, all the days run together in my head so who knows if that's what we actually did**
