This year I decided to go a little more...normal? I took Andrew Titensor and Sarah took our good friend John Nielson, both of which you should recognize from previous posts.
The location was so sweet, it was held in a real (huge) barn in Herriman. The family who owns the barn I guess puts on barn dances/parties all the time. They fed us a Cafe Rio ish meal with Rice, some sort of Pork tortilla thing, and beans.
The family where the callers and band, and at one point the 2nd generation of the family came out and put on a show for us.

Youngest boy of the family. John overheard him saying he really wanted to hug a girl so Sarah made the plan that should would ask if he would take a picture with her and then give him a big hug. As the boy walked away he did a small victory dance :)
Andrew was the best date, for the life of us we could not tell what the steps were so we just danced around like crazies. I'm sure we annoyed everyone else but we sure enjoyed ourselves.
Andrew was dressed full out because I guess his grandparents own a farm near Jackson so he had a real cowboy hat and boots. He kept warning me that he might topple over because he wasnt used to the heals on his boots and sure enough during the Polka competition he fell flat on his booty. After being trampled by a billion other polka couples he popped up and we tried to continue with out success because of laughter. We also didn't win the freeze dance competition because Andrew was laughing.
After the dance got over we went to our presidents house for root beer floats and a movie. Sarah and John were very lively and fell asleep on the couch.
One of the best parts of the evening was dropping John off at his house. Someone had bubbled the fountain so we couldn't resist but to play in them. I though it was a perfect end to the evening.
"you've got a grass in your hairdo, you better take it out before it.......just grab it"
-John (in a twang voice)
"that's it! I'm done! Lets go home! It's not fun anymore! My feet are wet"
-John, He was playing around in the bubbles as happy as can be when he stepped in the water and got so upset! he just marched to the car and sat there. It was sooooo funny because he was so happy until he got his feet got wet and then he was way pissed.
